Exactly. + means "one or more", * means "zero or more". '.' is "any character", ? is "zero or one".

For playing with regexps, you should try RegExplorer, available at http://regexplorer.sourceforge.net (or via "apt-get install regexplorer" on Debian).

Someone announced that he will port fwanalog to Linux 2.2 ipchains; when he did that, I will make a new release.
